Here I will show you about 3dsmax 3dmodel office desk studio tutorial.
I have used following techniques in this 3ds max tutorial.
Boolean and Editable poly techniques

[1]-First of all you will press (ctrl +N) now you will see the new window is open
Click on the Geometry > Standard primitives > Box and use the following setting
Create a Box in the top view set the Box like this in the front view

[2]-Select the Box right click Convert into Editable poly then select polygon mode in the editable poly
And make a selection like this in the left view

[3]-Now click on the Bevel Button and you will see the Bevel polygon palette is open
Then use the following setting your image should like this in the perspective view

[4]-Select polygon mode in the editable poly
And make a selection like this in the front view
Now click on the Extrude Button and you will see the Extrude polygon palette is open
Then use the following setting

[5]-Again select polygon mode in the editable poly
And make a selection like this in the front view
Now click on the Extrude Button and you will see the Extrude polygon palette is open
Then use the following setting

[6]-And again select polygon mode in the editable poly
And make a selection like this in the front view

[9]-Select the Desk click on the Boolean > Pick Operand B Then click on the box

[12]-Select the box now apply the Edit poly modifier then make a selection like this in the front view

[13]-Now click on the Bevel Button and you will see the Bevel polygon palette is open

[14]-Select the Box drag it and release you will see the clone option is open use the following setting
Then set the Box like this image as shown below

[15]-Use the following setting create a Chamfer Box like this in the Top view

Then set the Box like this image as shown below

Open the rendering palette and use the following setting set like this in the frront view

[19]-Use the following setting Sphere like this in the front view
And select the Sphere and Circle drag it and release you will see the clone option
Is open then use the following setting
Then set the tube like this image as shown below

[20]-Open the Material window
In the First material just import wood Jpg and assign to the desk
In the Second material just pick the color and give some shining and assign to the Knob
